Proverbs 6:16-19 ESV
There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.
If you are truly saved and have your eyes wide open to the world around you, you will recognize that a LOT of the practices God hates are being celebrated openly. A large portion of the country sent a message this week - rebuking the deceitful, immoral and destructive policies we have sadly become accustomed to.
God’s Word is clear about issues such as abortion, aberrant sexual habits, transgender practices, etc. I didn’t put the scriptures in this post but there are even verses about God hating unfair financial practices, stealing, adultery, etc.
Just because some of these “abominations” have become commonplace and part of what we consider “normal” these days does NOT make them right in any way! Sin is sin regardless of what the world says. We have been sitting back and watching our society step further and further into a system so corrupt that now our leaders aren’t even trying to hide their sinful ideology anymore. They double down on policies of decriminalizing crime, sexualizing our kids in schools with a disgusting curriculum, celebrating abortion, allowing boys dressed as girls to play against girls in sports. And they are getting away with it because WE haven’t taken a stand against them. WE are silently consenting to these abominable practices. WE are responsible and WE will be held accountable.
I am disappointed in Christians who believe the lies of our enemy, the devil. You will not die in this country if you vote against immorality. We still have our freedoms, thankfully, and freedom of speech is one of them. Speak up! They will hate you - SO WHAT?? Are you living for the approval of men or are you living for the approval of God? Jesus sacrificed EVERYTHING for you - can’t you at the very least take a stand against sin?
Proverbs 17:15 ESV
He who justifies the wicked and he who condemns the righteous are both alike an abomination to the Lord.
Proverbs 16:5 ESV
Everyone who is arrogant in heart is an abomination to the Lord; be assured, he will not go unpunished.
Revelation 21:8 ESV
But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”
Leviticus 18:21-23 ESV
You shall not give any of your children to offer them to Molech, and so profane the name of your God: I am the Lord. You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination. And you shall not lie with any animal and so make yourself unclean with it, neither shall any woman give herself to an animal to lie with it: it is perversion.
Leviticus 18:26, 28-30
[26] But you shall keep my statutes and my rules and do none of these abominations, either the native or the stranger who sojourns among you
[28] lest the land vomit you out when you make it unclean, as it vomited out the nation that was before you. [29] For everyone who does any of these abominations, the persons who do them shall be cut off from among their people. [30] So keep my charge never to practice any of these abominable customs that were practiced before you, and never to make yourselves unclean by them: I am the Lord your God.”
Deuteronomy 25:16 ESV
For all who do such things, all who act dishonestly, are an abomination to the Lord your God.
Deuteronomy 22:5 ESV
A woman shall not wear a man’s garment, nor shall a man put on a woman’s cloak, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God.
Deuteronomy 18:10-12 ESV
There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord. And because of these abominations the Lord your God is driving them out before you.
